Imperfect Genetic Engineering
Genetic engineering (aka genetic modification) involves changing of an organism’s genome using biotechnology. This is being explored in cell & gene therapy where this technique can help in the 1) correction of a genetic disorder, 2) enhancing healing/regenerative properties or 3) using these cells to target cancer like a trojan horse. ⠀
⠀
The process of inserting genes🧬into cells is known as transfection. During this process, not all cells will be transfected & researchers may have to select the transfected ones for further studies.
